NUC6CAYH no Hdmi signal Latest bios & latest HDMI firmware

Hello,

The HDMI signal is not there, I have to plug a VGA monitor into VGA port, reboot system & signal is received?

I need to know if I should return this unit.

I updated the bios to latest version along with the HDMI firmware as the NUC had sporadic  or no signals to any monitor when I received the unit.

I've tried 3 different HDMI cables all same results & these cables work on other PCs running same OS

I have a VGA basic monitor connected, the VGA works fine on any connected monitor I have.

 

The TV is a 2010 LED Samsung. only way to get the HDMI signal is to reboot & hope.  native max resolution is 1080p

From a cold boot no signal no bios splash.

Any advice on what to do would be appreciated.

 

I'm happy using it on VGA but will at some point need HDMI. Can it be a firmware problem with my TV? all other hdmi capable computers I have work perfectly on this tv.

Thanks in advance need to reboot now & see if I can use the NUC on the TV.

Does my NUC5i7RYH Supports 4k @ 60 Hz ? NUC7i7BNH

Hello, i've just got myself a new 4k monitor, sweet, I've connected it to my new NUC7i7BNH with an HDMI - HDMI Cable, and it ran 4K at @ Hz with no problem.
So i know for sure both the cable and the screen supports it.

 

Now going back to the older NUC5i7RYH, it only lets me run 4k @ 30 Hz through a mDP - DP cable.
also with the mHDMI - HDMI switch - HDMI CABLE, no success.

 

So i was wondering what could be the problem, does it lack the support to run at 60 Hz at all ? or am i missing something here ?

 

Latest drivers were installed.

NUC7i3BNH screen flicker and flashes

Hi.

My NUC7i3BNH is sick. The screen flickers and is totally useless last two weeks.

It's running BIOS 0061

Driver version 4901

Windows 10 version 1709 with all Windows Updates

Connected to a Samsung UE55JS8005 with an HDMI 2.0 Premium cable.

It's been working fine since I got it about a year ago.

 

In the beginning I thought it was a driver problem, so cleaned out 4664 with Display Driver Uninstaller. Didn't work. After that I did a factory reset of Windows. Didn't work, and now it was not possible to reinstall Windows due to all the flickers and blackouts on the TV.

Disconnected the NUC and took it downstairs to my other computer and connected it to my Dell U2713, and that worked fine.

So it seems like it's having problems with my 4K HDR Samsung TV.

My other NUC7 is connected to a projector (Benq W2000) and that works perfectly.

Doesn't help reducing resolution to 1920x1080.

Please help me, I'm running out of ideas.

 

I've been following this thread, seems like the same problem, but updating drivers to 4901 didn't solve my problem.

Chiedo alcuni chiarimenti per assemblare NUC7I3BNH. In ordine le domande:

 

1) La memoria "Optane" è obbligatoria oppure facoltativa? Senza "OPTANE" funziona lo stesso?

2) La memoria RAM DDR4 PATRIOT 16 GB double face 2133 mhz è compatibile con NUC ? Se la monto funziona lo stesso?

3) SSD SAMSUNG 850 EVO 250 GB è compatibile con NUC? Se la monto funziona lo stesso?

 

Al momento il NUC NON STA FUNZIONANDO con detti componenti. Cosa devo fare?

Dawson Canyon is more than perfectly suited for my needs, but I'm curious what's going to happen when the 8th gen NUCs drop next quarter. Does anyone know if there will be business variants of the Bean Canyon consumer line? Specifically, I really need the wide input voltage, internal power connector, and all of the additional internal USB headers. Bean Canyon most likely won't have these features, but the leaked roadmap last year that accurately predicted Hades Canyon didn't actually mention anything about Dawson Canyon. Based on that fact, I think it's entirely possible we'll see a Coffee Lake successor to Dawson, but I'd really like to know if that's going to happen sooner rather than later. If it's a year out, I'll just pull the trigger on Dawson.

 

If it's not planned, just know there's definitely demand for it. Doesn't even have to be a business line - wide input voltage and internal power headers on Bean Canyon would be enough for me.

How to create Custom BIOS Settings file without UEFI Shell ?

Hello,

 

My question is very similar (exactly same to be exact) as that asked in https://communities.intel.com/thread/116957?q=Custom%20BIOS.

However the answer provided there does not help me since that solution does not apply to the custom bio file created, but rather talks about a manual workaround.

 

I am using NUC7i5BNB.

I am also trying to create a custom BIOS (.bio) file which will include my own customised BIOS settings using Intel Integrator Toolkit. Everything works as per the documentation. But there is a Chicken-and-Egg problem, as stated in that other thread. In order to create the custom BIOS, I have to run the commands in the Internal UEFI Shell and in order to access that shell I need to enable the UEFI Shell Custom Settings in the BIOS. (by default this UEFI shell has higher priority than the Hard-disk boot in the Boot Order, else we would never enter the UEFI shell during the boot)

So along with my other Custom Settings, even the 'Internal UEFI Shell Enabled' setting gets saved in the resulting custom bio file I generate. Now if I update any other NUC with this custom bio file,  it is causing that NUC to boot by default into the Internal UEFI shell.

 

Of course, I can change the boot-order locally on my NUC or even disable Internal UEFI shell settings on my NUC, but then it will have to be done on every NUC on which we install this custom bio and that completely defeats the purpose of the custom bio file.

 

Please provide me a solution where I can create a custom .bio file having only my customised settings without having the Internal UEFI Shell setting Enabled.

NUC7I5DNKE BIOS Version 0035 - Fan settings bug

The BIOS 0035 version has bug. It always sets the fan Minimum Duty cycle and the Minimum Temperature back to the value 30 / 52 and does not store the entered custom settings.

NUC7i5BNH firmware update 0052 to 0061 safe to do?

I have a NUC7i5BNH using firmware 0052 and it appears to be working fine.  I see the latest firmware is 0061

but I see references in some forums to issues with firmware 0061 after updating.  This makes me a little gun-shy

about updating the BIOS though normally this would be a good idea to pick up security fixes and and other hardware

support improvements.  But this 0061 sounds a little questionable.

 

Can anyone comment on this?  Is it safe to update the BIOS to this version or is there hardware compatibility issues with

this BIOS update?

 

What is the community consensus on this?  Update or don't update?

NUC5i5MYBE Power Switch Bypass

Hi,

 

I am using NUC5i5MYBE board. The board is going to be mounted in a closed cabinet. I am using internal power supply to power on the board.

After giving power supply, I have to use the power switch. How can I bypass the power switch to power on the board just by using internal power supply?

Could not enter BIOS after upgrade 065

My NUC works normally before BIOS version 065.

After upgrade to 065, The NUC BOOT Screen disappeared, Black screen maintained until Windows 10 logon screen.

No response by pressing F2, F10, F12 when system boot.

 

But, the Num Lock Led on keyboard has response by click the Nun Lock key.

 

How can I enter BIOS now ?

Help_Checking media presence.. No media present. After failed insider update

Edit.

After the failed insider update and rollback, the machine worked fine and I switched it off.

Now after turning it on i get

 

Checking media presence....... No media present.

 

Only boot devices i can see in bios and boot menu is uefi lan pre

 

Any help please. nuci3.

Since boot files are on the optane, are there any issues when updating insider builds in win 10?

 

I just tried updating to latest insider build, slow ring and it failed on second reboot and rolled back. I have seen others have issues installing it (not optane) but just wondered if optane could be an issue?

bios update 0368 for NUC 5i5RYH random reboot

Hi

I own a NUC KIT NUC5i5RYH  with Windows10 pro OS, 16GB RAM and SSD. all drivers up to date ( i  glance at https://downloadcenter.intel.com/search?keyword=NUC+KIT+NUC5i5RYH at least once a month  to look for updates).

obviously , i downloaded (and installed) bios 0368 to mitigate "meltdown and spectre" a couple of week ago in conjunction with windows update. i have verified with the "Get-SpeculationControlSettings" of microsoft powershell utility that all went well

 

I noted few sudden random "shutdown and restart" with

"The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

found inside windows event viewer

 

it never happened before this bios update (i have been using this NUC for 2 years)

 

i also have noted a performance reduction of about 5-10 %(especially on my SSD I/O operation. the OS is on SSD) , but i think this is "normal" in this situation

I already updated to that bios.

NUC6CAYH - How to monitor HDCP status?

I'm having problems streaming an Amazon Video in HD (not UHD) from my NUC to the TV.

It plays, but only in SD and I'm getting an error message "computer, cable or monitor not HDCP compliant".

The NUC should support even HDCP2.2. My TV support HDCP1.1. And the cable is HDMI1.2.

My OS is Windows 10 Pro Creators Update and I tried running the video in Edge and Chrome.

According to Amazon, there is no specific version of HDCP required for a regular HD video.

So I'm trying to find out, which component is causing the issue.

 

Is there any way of monitoring/visualizing, whether HDCP is running properly on the NUC?

NVIDIA seems to have such a display in their graphics settings, but I cant find anything similar on the NUC.

je viens d'acheter ce boitier NUC, j'ai réussi à installé win7 et les drivers pour les ports USB3, mais je cherche désespérément les autres drivers pour win 7, sans succès.n'existeraient 'il pas?

je souhaite resté en win 7 pour des compatibilité avec des machines précédemment livrées.

NUC7I3BNK - Randomly no sound over HDMI and BIOS changelog question

Hello Intel !

 

Thanks for your awesome NUC's !

 

2 questions though :

 

I'm using a NUC7I3BNK,

 

- Randomly I get no sound over HDMI, my amp says PCM usually and after a reboot or many sometimes, it says audio signal unknown. My NUC has an "old" firmware, I was wondering if there was fixes/tweaks on newer BIOS revisions about that and if you would advise me to update it?

 

- Is there a place on this website where we can see some sort of changelog of all of the BIOS revisions/updates, that would be really helpful to me, thanks
