I am having trouble compiling GLSL shader programs on a NUC Mini NUC7i7BNH. glCompileShader yields False for GL_COMPILE_STATUS but glGetShaderInfoLog returns just a single newline, no error messages. Then sometimes glLinkProgram and glValidateProgram accept the shaders anyway, GL_LINK_STATUS and GL_VALIDATE_STATUS are both True. But for some other shaders, glLinkProgram complains "shader not compiled", GL_LINK_STATUS is False, and eventually glGetUniformLocation posts an error, GL_INVALID_OPERATION.
Iris Plus OpenGL GLSL shader compile fails, but no error in the log.
NUC7I5BNH problems with 10-bit / HDR
I have a NUC7I5BNH miniPC (Win 10, 64 bit, Fall Creators update, latest Windows updates, latest BIOS, latest drivers, latest HDMI firmware as of 24 Jan 2018) that was until recently connected to a Sony KDL-52Z5800 TV (1080p TV).
Last week, I exchanged my TV with a Sony KD-65A1 4K OLED HDR TV.
I connected the NUC with the HDMI 2 input of the Sony KD-65A1, using an Ultra HD 2160p 60Hz 18 Gbit/s HDMI 2.0b specified cable (tried 2 different ones!).
On the Sony TV, I enabled 'HDMI Enhanced mode' which allows to view 4K or HDR pictures at 18 Gbps according to http://sony-eur-eu-en-web--eur.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/136957/~/how-to-set-up-your-sony-4k-tv-for-a-uhd-%2F-4k-%2F-hdcp-2.2-compliant-hdmi
The NUC is set to 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz in the Intel Graphics Control Panel. Colour input range is set to 'Use driver setting' > 'Full range'.
I have 2 problems:
- Colour banding: indeed, when checking in Windows in 'HDR and advanced colour settings', the colour depth is 8-bit and the colour format is YCbCr420. I don't get the NUC to output 10-bit, whereas both the NUC and the Sony TV should be compatible with this colour depth.
- HDR: in Windows in 'Display' the 'HDR and advanced color' toggle is visible but after I try to turn it on and confirm the new settings, the toggle is again on 'Off'. In the 'Video playback' settings page, the toggle 'Stream HDR Video' is greyed out.
Any help in sorting out those 2 issues would be greatly appreciated. According to my understanding, but the NUC7I5BNH and the KD-65A1 should be able to handle 10-bit / HDR.

NUC7 - Temperature probe giving -263°C after BIOS update
Hello,
As advised on this topic :
I post a new topic about this issue, giving as much details as I can.
As many NUC7 users reported, (NUC7I3BNK for me) when I updated my BIOS from the factory one to a newest revision, the temperature reported on LINUX based systems is -263°C.
PLEASE be sure to note the following:
- The CPU temperature reported was the RIGHT one using the NUC with the factory firmware.
- It is now impossible to downgrade to factory firmware because of the security changes introduced with revision 0050 "Due to a security enhancement, it will not be possible to go to any BIOS earlier than BIOS 0050." Source : https://downloadmirror.intel.com/27397/eng/BN_0060_ReleaseNotes.pdf
- I dont know when this bug was introduced, but it happens at least since the 0052 revision,
- I have tried with 5 differents NUC7I3BNK, I ordered and assembled dozens in my company lately so I could try many NUC with many BIOS revisions, data was consistent, works on factory BIOS, doesnt work after "recent" revisions.
- I thought it might be a bug with new BIOS revisions, or maybe just the CPU sensor ID that got modified for some reason in new BIOS revisions and Linux systems are reading the wrong probe by default.
- I know that Linux is not officially supported (yet) by Intel for NUC's at least, but it might be an "easy" fix that would help many people, specially considering it was working well with old firmwares.
I would like to know if you could consider fixing it with the next revisions, even if I guess that you have some other major fixes to work on lately
Thanks a lot for your help Intel !

CEC with Linux-Scripts
Hello.
I use a NUC 6CAYH for a digital signage application.
The nuc turns the TV on and off on boot/shutdown. I would like to turn it on/off by a script. Is this possible? I installed cec-utils (on Ubuntu), but cec-client -l says "Found devices: NONE"...
Thanks
HDMI update installed using NUC6CAY BobcatAuxispTool on NUC7i7BNH and it failed during install and now when I re boot NUC there is no output to HDMI monitor.
Did above upgrade and now NUC is obviously "alive" and lights flashing but nothing is output to monitor. No BIOS boot screen, it's blank. I'm guessing that when the upgrade failed it did not roll back to original start position. How do I fix this please, because right now I can't see a thing on the monitor?
最新显卡驱动问题,导致photoshop cc2018花屏。Latest Graphics driver issues。
My Computer: WINDOWS10,NUC6 i5,
when installing the official latest version of the graphics driver will cause Photoshop cc2018 flower screen.
When you turn off the GPS acceleration, you don't have to spend the screen, but you know that now Photoshop has to turn on the GPS acceleration or it's slow.
Photoshop does not spend the screen when installing the graphics driver driver version:21.20.16.4590 version, but illustrator CC 2018 has a slight flower screen.
I've identified a problem that is not Photoshop.It's a graphics-driven problem.
Please help me, thank you!
NUC7i7bnh cannot regocnise Kingston M2.SSD
Hi,
Trying to set up a new NUC7i7BNH with a Kingston SM2280S3G2/240G M2 SSD drive.
Whatever I do, I cannot recognise it as a bootable device.
If I install a standard SSD drive I can set this as a bootable drive and install an OS (Ubuntu).
If have flashed the BIOS to 60 and defaulted.
M2 port is enabled but it shows "not populated"
Can you confirm if the device is compatible - on the Kingston site it is listed as compatible.
Thank you....
Paul.
NUC6CAYH can't access to USB 3.0 flash drive after updating to bios 45
I've just bought two NUC6CAYH.
The initial BIOS version was 38.
I installed 4 Gb RAM and a 120Gb SSD.
Then I installed Win10 Pro and I updated all the drivers using Windows Update.
Finally I installed the Intel DSA utility to verify other updates.
The utility suggested three updates: graphic driver, wifi driver and the bios.
I installed everything and the process completed without errors.
Now the BIOS version is 45.
The system is running fine but when I connect a USB key 3.0 to any usb port (I tried many USB flash drive that worked perfectly before the update) the system completely ignore it.
If the USB key is compatible only with 2.0 standard, there are no problem.
Even changing settings in BIOS, I couldn't change anything.
Did I do something wrong? Did I forget something? Or this is a serious bug in version 45 of the bios?
Can you help to solve the problem? Thanks.
nuc7i5 no audio
i have lost the audio to my 3.5 jack since windows did their update
if i click on speaker in bottom right it just scans and says restart to finish installing drivers and updates. yet never does anything
my control panel - sound says no devices are installed. no matter how many times i completely remove them from the system and reinstall from intel
device manager - sound - asks me to reinstall the drivers for this device code 18
if i try to update driver from device manager it will not update. even when i select the file from my desktop download
so then i uninstall from device manager, scan for hardweare changes and it says yello exclamation on intel high definition audio. when i click it it says device is not configured correctly code 1
so i select update driver -- link it searches the web then comes back and says access is denied wtf I AM ADMINISTRATOR ON THIS NUC
I HAVE DOWNLOADED the latest driver from intel 6.0.0.7982 x64
i run the setup to install and it completes the process and asks for a restart... which i do and end up with the exact same issue NO AUDIO
i have differnet case #s open with microsoft but they keep passing me off to 800.936.4900 which after entering all the pertinent info says the number is disconnected and hangs up. good job idiots
ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS PLEASE
Will NUC7i5BNK work with only 1 RAM stick of 8 GB? In that case, in wich slot should I put it?
I've recently bought an Intel NUC7i5BNK and I'm about to set it up but I dont know if it will work with only one 8GB RAM stick. Will it?
The RAM I've bought is the following:
HyperX Impact 8GB DDR4 2400MHz 8GB
In case that this configuration is possible, in which slot should I put the only RAM stick I have?
Thanks,
Jordi
NUC does not wake up 4K display
Hi,
my NUC7i5BNK does not reactivate my 4K display (LG 27uD68P-B) when coming out of sleep mode. The display says "No signal detected, going to sleep" when hitting mouse button to resume NUC. NUC in fact is resuming, which I can see by the LEDs turning blue. I already tried to uninstall Intel grafics driver, with no success, because it gets reinstalled after the next reboot. Also I've deactivated all display energy saving options.
My display is connected via Thunderbolt to display port adapter. I tried also HDMI port, but this does only come up with 30Hz instead of 60Hz.
Any idea how I can make my NUC run with my 4K display through Thunderbolt port?
Thanks and regards,
Stefano
NUC7i7BNH fan noise.. memory related
I have a NUC7i7BNH with 2 banks of HyperX memory of 16GB (32GB) total.
I'm having issues with a very loud fan. Just with browsing only in Chrome! Sounds like a hairdryer!
I have seen the bios setting is one of the forum topics here nut that did not help. It seems that it does not matter what i set it keep blowing at 5000+ rpm!
Wht i did that helped...
I took one of the memory banks out! And that made a lot of difference ..But i lost 16GB now..
Not a fix ..just an observation.
For the record.
Latest Bios and up to date Windows 10 x64.
Seagate 1TB ST1000LM014 drive

27" monitor for NUC7i3BNK
Hello,
I'd like to advice to help me decide which 27" monitor I should buy for office and entertainment, please. (I bought my NUC in March, 2017 and I love it. To date, it's been connected to the family TV, which was great for entertainment but less than ideal for work, hence the change.)
After reading many monitor reviews online, I like the sound/look of the Dell U2715H; however, I have some queries:
1. Will my NUC, with integrated graphics, be able to power a WQHD 2k 1440p monitor, such as the Dell?
2. Is a 1440p overkill for my needs? (I use MS Office, research online and stream movies and catch up TV; no gaming.) Would I be better off with a 1080 monitor? What do others use? Your recommendations are appreciated.
3. If I buy the Dell (or any other monitor), which is the best way to connect it to my NUC, via a cable from the USB-C (NUC) to DP (monitor), via HDMI (NUC) to DP (monitor), or via HDMI on both? An explanation of the pros and cons of different configurations would be helpful. As the Dell only comes with a miniDP to DP cable I would need to buy a new cable, so I might as well by the best one.
Thanks in advance, I appreciate your consideration and help in solving my monitor dilemma.
Kind regards,
Mark
Note: I'm opting for a single 27" monitor as a compromise. I'd actually prefer 2 x 24" for work, but I don't have the space for two monitors in my bedroom office. With the 27" I can still open and work on two applications simulatenously, which I can't do with a 24", and a 27" is better (bigger) for Entertainment purposes. I bought a bargain priced 32" Phillips HD monitor (BDM3201F), but I am returning it because it's too big. Colors and print resolution seem fine, but I find myself leaning right back in my chair and typing with my arms outstretched to feel comfortable in front of the screen. Also it blocks the view out my window. It's a shame because it's great for movies and was a bargain here in Oz.
NUC 7I5BNK some applications and drivers crashes
I have following hardware
INTEL NUC BOXNUC7i5BNK
RAM - CRUCIAL CT16G4SFD8213 DDR4
SSD - OCZ Toshiba RVD400-M22280-256G 256Гб, M.2 2280, PCI-E x4
Window 10 64bit with the latest updates. Check with sfc on no issues.
All Intel drivers and firmware - latest versions from the site.
All tests I've tried (Memtest, Futuremark, Passmark, Intel's test I found here) passes with no errors.
However when I run certain applications, they crashed with no warnings or error messages. I just can see in windows journal following error 0xc0000005.
To be more specific - I have constant error with printer driver (Xerox 6000B), this drivers operates with no error on my other PC, but fail on NUC. Also there is a device in the list and I could print from some application (Adobe Acrobat), but could not print from Microsoft Office. Xerox applications which are available with driver could not recognise printer at all with message like "no printer installed"
I can not play CS:GO which also stops with the same error. It also work on my PC with windows 10.
My first guess was about issues with RAM so I found one which is on hardware compatibility list - hynix ddr4 hma451s6afr8n-tf no ab 2133. Unfortunately it did not solve the issue.
Been tired of all the issues for two months I have final went to store where I bought NUC and they took it for diagnostics which lasted for 17 days.... After all they concluded on issues and replaced my NUC with new one. That was good. The bad thing is that it does not solve the problem. I still have the same issues with same applications.
Any thoughts how to solve them ?

Skull Canyon erasing SSD
Hi all,
I'm trying to erase my SSD in a NUC Skull Canyon back to factory default. It is a Samsung 850 EVO SSD. Samsung has a magician app where you can format a boot usb to perform a 'secure erase', but when I do this it says the ssd is in a 'frozen state'. The suggestion solution is to disconnect and reconnect the SATA cables from the SSD to unfreeze it, but I only see a port connecting the SSD to the Skull Canyon motherboard, no cables of any kind. I've unplugged and replugged the SSD but that did not work. Has anyone ever had any experience with unfreezing frozen SSDs for a secure erase on Skull Canyons?
NUC7i5BNK Thermal Event Hibernation
I am getting this error when i visit certain sites or use Steam: "The system was hibernated due to a critical thermal event."
All the drivers and BIOS are updated.
I just disabled Boost in the BIOS, but its still happening.
The system was hibernated due to a critical thermal event.
Hibernate Time = 2018-01-28T06:47:51.992734900Z
ACPI Thermal Zone = \_SB.PCI0.LPCB.H_EC.TZ0
_HOT = 200K
Amy recommendations? This thing is brand new.
NUC7i3BNH Connection To TV
Hi,
I have a NUC7i3BNH which is connected to my Samsung TV UA43J5500 through HDMI cable for about 5 months and everything worked fine until couple of days ago.
The NUC boots but it turns into black screen before the windows login.
I tried to restart, change HDMI cable, replace port on the TV but nothing helped.
When I connected the NUC to other DELL screen it works fine.
What could go wrong?
What should I do?
I'm despaired.
Thanks,
Tal
