NUC6i5SYK won't turn on monitor anymore

Hello there

Nuc NUC6i5SYK user here.
2xKingston Technology HyperX Impact 16GB RAM DDR4 2133 HX421S13IBK2/16

1xSamsung 850 EVO - 250GB - M.2 SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-N5E250BW)

LG 47'' TV as screen using HDMI

I bought the pc in 2016 was working perfectly until today.

When i turned it on I got a "BI initializeLibrary failed 0xc00000bb" error message after NUC splash screen.

First I tried to boot from an USB to fix MBR or even trying to format and the reinstall Windows. I never could: i won't boot using the USB (it just hanged).

So I use the power button 3 seconds boot menu to Recover the BIOS. It recovered it and asked me to turn off/unplug. I did that.

Then I plugged the word cord again and turn on and now it won't turn on monitor anymore. (the monitor and cable works great with other device, I tried that also)

The blue light stays on, I hear the vent but it doesn't send signal to the monitor. Even more: If I press the turn power button It won't turn off I have to hold it for 3 seconds to turn the pc off.

I tried removing one of the memory slots (it keeps restaring when I do that).

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Visual Bios does not work on my NUC8i7HVK

hi I have a new NUC8i7HVK with BIOS version 0049 and the Visual Bios version 2.2.25.

When I press F2 during the system start the Visual Bios will be displayed, but only the headline and the information for the quick buttons at the bottom of the screen, as well as the version number of the visual bios.

However, I can not use anything, and there are no other options displayed.

What can this be and is there a solution to make the Visual Bios usable again?

thanks

Hi,

We have +/- 300 NUC5i3MYBE devices with amplifier and speakers.

At boot we hear a very loud beep  when we press the powerbutton longer than 1 sec.

So a quick press gives no issues..

Does anyone knows how to disable this  beep ?  I cannot find any option in the Visual Bios....

any help appreciated

NUC6i7KYK not booting with 2nd memory module

  • When I received the NUC, it originally booted with both modules installed, but then froze when I was working with virtual machines.
  • I ran a memory test which failed … I then tested the modules individually, and they passed the individual tests.
  • The NUC would then not boot up with both modules installed.
  • I then noticed that I had disparate memory speeds  1 x 2133 MHz and 1 x 2400 MHz.
  • After having the one module swapped out, I am still experiencing the same issue.
  • When the NUC has 2 x 16GB Transcend memory modules (2133 MHz) the following happens:-
    • NUC powers on … but nothing appears on the display
    • NUC shuts down on its own
    • NUC then powers up on its own
    • Only to shutdown again and repeat the above process.
  • A further question I have … I see Transcend 2400 MHz memory modules have been tested / approved for my NUC ??? why are you using 2400 MHz modules when it is stated in the spec sheet that the memory is DDR4 - SO-DIMMS 2133MHz

NUC won´t wake up from standby

Hello Guys,

I have the following problem with my NUC ( (Product Code: BLKNUC7i7DNK2E). When I leave for lunch, I don´t fully turn off my NUC, but instead just lock the screen and it will go to standby after a while.

Afterwards it won´t wake from standby and the screens (2x Samsung S27E330 connected with HDMI) stay black. The power lamp is on but nothing else is happening, which leaves me no choice but to cut the power and reboot.

Now it´s not turning on properly, but only if two displays are connected. When I disconnect the one using the Protected UHD Hdmi Port the NUC starts normal. This does not solve my problem though, as I am not able to use two displays anymore.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the help

NUC5i3RYH redémarre tout seul après arrête

Bonjour,

Merci

Intel - NUC

I have Intel NUC and I have manually assigned it a static IP address to it. Now when I run the Advanced IP scanner on the entire network, I see 2 different IP address to the same mac address on that NUC. I have also made sure other network adapters are disabled on the NUC. Any specific reason it shows two IP addresses ? Is this something related to IPMI ?

Thanks,

NUC7i7BNK not powered on after connecting with external power supply

Hello,

I am trying to use an external power supply to power up the computer instead of the original adapter. I have set the voltage to 15V and limit the current to 1.5A. However, it was not successful.

I tried to power it up with the original adapter but it does not work anymore. The red LED on the power button and the yellow LED beside the front panel header are on when the power jack is connected. Nothing happens when the power button is pressed. I measured the voltage across Pin 8 and 9 on the header but there is no voltage difference.

Does it mean that some fuse is blown on the circuit? Where can I identify it? Is this recoverable? Thank you for the suggestions in advance!

NUC8i7HVK displays grey screen till Windows welcome screen

$

Hi All,

I recently got myself a NUC8i7HVK and intend to use it as HTPC to play 4K HDR remuxes from my NAS.

Added 2 sticks of Crucial 8GB DDR4 2400MHz ram and Samsung 970 Evo 256GB M.2 SSD. OS is Windows 10 1803. AMD drivers is 18.9.3

The NUC is connected using HDMI to my TV LG OLED 55B7 via my AV receiver Onkyo TX-RZ800 to a HDMI 2.0a port. Post boot up, I get a grey screen on my TV till the point the Windows 10 welcome screen comes. If I try and go into the BIOS I still get a grey screen. Hence to configure the NUC I had to connect it to an old 13" AOC monitor using HDMI to VGA adapter. Prior to this I was using a 3rd Gen i5 NUC which didnt have any such issue.

I have already upgraded the BIOS to the latest available and still have the same issue on both the HDMI outs and with multiple HDMI cables.

The same AV receiver has the following connected and none of them have this issue:

1. My gaming PC comprising 2xGTX980Ti in SLI and i7 5930k. OS is same as NUC. I can go into the BIOS and make changes.

2. XBox One X

3. PS4 Pro

4. Satellite TV box.

Connecting the new NUC to the old AOC display everytime I need to change a setting is not feasible. Neither do I want to bypass the AV Receiver as that would defeat the purpose of using the NUC as HTPC.

Please help me in resolving the issue.

NUC7i3BNB with HDMI Sound problems

Problem: NUC's are attached to a Interactive touch TV and when switching inputs from NUC to whatever and back, the sound gets disable or no longer recognizes the TV as a sound device.

So i work in a school district with alot of Gen 6 NUCs and now Gen 7 NUCs. We have purchased Gen 7 NUC's   NUC7i3BNB with BIOS version BNKBL357.86A.0060.2017.1214.2013. I have just updated the BIOS to BN0069.bio and issue continues.

We have these NUCs mounted to Boxlight 75" Touch TV's and whenever the input is changed there is a high chance that when you go back to the input of the NUC that the sound is Red X'd out and cannot be troubleshoot to repaired to work. The only workaround at this time is to UNPLUG the HDMI cable from the TV and plug it back in or Restart the NUC and this is not a solution.  All NUCs are using HDMI cables plugged into HDMI 2.0 slots, not 1.4.

I would like to also point that these NUCs have been mounted to 75" NewLine touch TVs and have the same problem. Hence it is a NUC problem. On the BoxLight TV's the BIOS boot shows the color of the screen to be Green and not the typical black that you would see during boot up. Not sure if that is a HDMI issue in general.  We also just bought a Type C (NUC) to Display Port cable (TV) and are troubleshooting to see if issue continues this way.

Please see this thread for the attached file from Intel display save file on one of our Boxlight TV's with a NUC attached. NUC7i5BNK HDMI Sound Gone   communities.intel.com/thread/125277

Intel NUC 7CJYH ignoring UEFI setting WLAN and poweroff issues

$

Hello @all,

I have here some issues with the NUC7CJYH with BIOS 0044 (latest right now):

- In Windows I see WLAN and SD Card in the device manager although I disabled it in BIOS / UEFI, so settings seem to be ignored. I tried to reset to defaut BIOS settings once and again remove the checkbox with no avail.

- If I need to power the NUC hard off, I press the power button long until it shuts down. So the theory. But it will then reboot immediatly with the power butten flushing 3 times and will not recover until I reconnect the power supply. I guess this is not expected behaviour... (RAM used is Kingston KVR24S17S6/4)

May I request the NUC team to address these issues?

Regards,

Lost Wifi Intel-NUC6CAYH

Hi, I‘ve been running Ubuntu mate 18.04 on my Intel-NUC6CAYH without any issues, wifi has been normal with good speeds. I turned it on today and no wifi at all, no wireless chip even detected, the only change has been a recently purchased usb 3 hub that I plugged in on my last boot up.

I also bought a Toshiba usb 3 64GB flash drive before this, but it was not recognized by my NUC when plugged into any port, I bought a Sandisk usb 3 64GB one which worked perfectly, but when I plugged the Toshiba flash drive into my new usb 3 hub it worked. The other strange thing I noticed was my screen blacks out for a split second when I plug a flash drive into the hub.

I tried my live cd but still no wireless connectivity, could the usb hub or the Toshiba flash drive disable my wifi adaptor or could this be a hardware failure, is it possible to determine wireless status in the bios, thanks.
