Hi,

My girlfriend was watching youtube when the computer blue screened and said it needed to restart. The computer shut off. I turned it on and couldn't get image on the screen. I reseated the ram and the sdd but it would still only stay on for about 20 seconds and shut off. The LED is solid, no blinking. This was after having it on for a few hours. Any recommendations on what to do next?

NUC7i5BNH: No HDMI playback audio devices in Sound Control Panel, NUC hardware defect?

I want to play back audio via HDMI cable on the NETWORK STEREO RECEIVER Onkyo TX-L20D.

I had a look on this article "No Audio Through My HDMI Cable". But I didn't find any HDMI playback device in my sound control panel, even though the NUC and the Onkyo are connected via HDMI cable. This cable is working properly between the Onkyo and a TV screen.

I have already reinstalled the Intel display driver, here you can see an extract of the Detailed-System-Report.html.

Screen flickering on 4k TV with video in browser

Hello, I am getting a little frustrated and would like some help. I am completely 100% updated on all drivers and the BIOS for my machine (NUC6I5SYH).

I am connected from my Nuc to a Samsung 4k TV (NU7100).

I have Kodi on my machine, and all video runs completely 100% fine from Kodi. However, as soon as I start streaming video on Chrome or Edge, the screen starts flickering. If I close the browser, the screen flickering stops. I am also including the information from me running SSU.

Please help me figure out how to stream video on my browser over a 4k tv. Please.

Getting Rid of Realtek Audio

Uninstalling Realtek Audio only works until windows update decides to update it.........

This is a method that I found on the Net that works, Windows update does not show Realtek Audio anymore.

I'm not sure if this affects the sd card reader since I dont use it?

--------

Here's how to permanently get rid of the Realtek driver:

disable, disconnect or unplug any internet connection to prevent Windows from reinstalling the driver,

uninstall "Realtek High Definition Audio Driver" and restart to make sure it's gone,

go to C:\Program Files and create a new folder called "Realtek",

open the properties dialog, go to the "Security" tab and click on "Advanced",

click on "Change Permissions", then "Disable inheritance", and in the new dialog select "Remove all inherited permission from this object",

click on "OK" and "Yes" etc. to apply the changes.

Hello,

I have a problem because NUC7i5BNK has been damaged and replaced by intel for a new one. Unfortunately, the customer had installed the purchased windows 10pro OEM that does not want to activate.

I am a customer service provider and maintainer, how to get Windows activation? Nuc worked only one month. The damage was not caused by the user.

NUC7i7BNH does not have UEFI PXE boot option

$

Hey, folks.

We have to deploy a large about of NUC workstations for a client which requires all of them to have BitLocker enabled. This cannot be done if the OS is not installed from (and subsequently booted) from UEFI.

When in the BIOS setup, I noted that the list of UEFI-available devices is missing LAN (PXE) as an option. It is available, and indeed works, as a Legacy boot option. I have updated the BIOS on the NUC7i7BNH tester model I have with the latest BIOS released on 05/28/2018 [BNKBL357.86A] using the F7 Recovery Flash method. Even after doing so, I'm in the same boat. I can UEFI boot a USB-attached drive, but not PXE boot. This is a problem as when we Legacy boot our WDS server to install the client's image, we cannot enable BitLocker as the OS does not boot UEFI after install.

Is there any way to get this model to UEFI PXE boot? I have attached screenshots so you can see what I see. Thanks in advance!

NUC7I3BNK impossible 4k@60hz with new amazon cable

Hi everyone,

I bought a NUC7I3BNK for my TCL U55P006P. But I can use it at 60HZ. The software block the 60hz at 1920*1080, if I try to put it in 4K, I can only select 30hz.

I read that can come from my HDMI cable, so I bought a cable that can be use in 4k@60hz but nothing change, I'm still block at 30HZ.

  • Compatible avec le standard HDMI 2.0 (Vidéo 4K à 60Hz, 2160p, profondeur de couleur 48 bits/px) qui supporte une bande passante jusqu'à 18 mbps et est compatible avec les versions antérieures.

(That said that the cable is HDMI 2.0 and work at 60HZ in 4k.

(This one AmazonBasics Câble HDMI 2.0 haut débit Compatible Ethernet/3D/retour audio [Nouvelles normes] 0,9 m: Amazon.fr: High-tec…  )

So I go check the specs on my TV, all HDMI are 2.0b. I update my hdmi driver to the version 1.72, I update the drivers for the chipset and video.

I dont know what to do now?

Thank you for your help

NUC8i7HVK Vega 24.20 mouse lag

Hi everyone,

I have a strange situation when upgrading vega driver to the newest version (24.20.11001.1028). After upgrading (clean install) my mouse becomes very laggy when moving. I tried both wired and wireless (2.4ghz) mouses, same issue.

I downgradded to the older version (23.20.792.2048) and everything is back to normal.

Does anyone know what could be the issue?

I'm using Windows 10 pro 64-bit 1803, adata sx8200 pci-e, logitech g90 mouse.

Bios fails to update from USB on NUC5i5MYHE

I have a NUC5i5MYHE which still has the factory BIOS installed, running Manjaro Linux 64-bit.

Hoping to update the BIOS, I downloaded the "OS Independent" BIOS update iFlash BIOS update [MYBDWi5v.86A.0044.BI.ZIP].

I copied the .BIO file to a USB drive and shut down. On startup, I pressed F7 and got to the update BIOS menu. There I selected the USB, and then selected the .BIO file. A message appeared asking if I really want to update the BIOS using that file. I pressed Return to confirm.

Then the NUC rebooted and went to the normal Linux login screen. I logged in and checked the BIOS version; it was still the original version, not the new one.

I've done this twice. Any suggestions?

If you think the only/best solution to create a DOS boot disk and run the update from that, it would help to have a link to a page explaining how to do that for newbies.

Thank you!

Received a replacement NUC; Windows 10 Pro won't reactivate with my original product code

$

I recently received a replacement for my defective Intel NUC8i7HVK.

I then removed the memory and SSD from the original NUC and installed them on the replacement NUC.  Everything appears to work fine except that Microsoft will no longer recognize the Windows 10 Pro operating system that I transferred via the SSD.  I've followed the Windows 10 instructions (Windows 10 works in a minimal way even without a product key) by both trying to activate Windows with my product code and also running the Troubleshooter.  But whatever I do the Troubleshooter says I now have an invalid product code. Please advise me what I should do.

For your convenience, I've attached the message saying 1) I need to activate the product key, and 2) that the product key I then entered is invalid. I get the same 2) message after running the troubleshooter.

NUC8i7HVK - "A bootable device has not been detected." despite SSD inserted and OS installed

$

Hi,

I've set up my Hades Canyon and was able to on first boot get Win 10 installed, added all the drivers, rebooted a couple times along the way. Didn't touch any BIOS settings, just wanted to get everything installed first before tweaking anything. I left the system off and went to boot it the next day and saw the message "A bootable device has not been detected."

I promptly went into BIOS and my Intel 760p SSD was no longer showing in the PCIe devices list. I had installed it into SSD Slot A. At this point I was on BIOS *.0029.*, so I went to see if a newer BIOS had been relased. *.0040.* was available so I installed that. System still refused to detect the installed SSD.

Only after unplugging and reinstalling the SSD, into either slot A or B, does it boot from SSD. But if I dare power down and attempt to restart, I'm stuck with the bootable device not detected message until the next time I manually intervene and reseat the SSD. I've installed SODIMMs and m.2 SSDs in the past and was sure to seat the device pins properly. I'm running out of ideas here! I've even cleared CMOS via the BIOS_SEC jumper inside the case.

I'm very confused because this isn't a total failure, as I was clearly able to make use of the SSD up until it quits being detected. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Power specification of internal SATA power connector?

$
0
0

I understand that the Thunderbolt 3 ports on the Hades Canyon NUC's support only 5V 3A of power output – the "up to 100W of power" commonly quoted with TB3 is an optional feature not included on these NUC's (see recent thread here).

It's commonly quoted that SATA power connectors can output 1.5A on each of the non-ground terminals (of which there are 9 – 3x3.3V, 3x5V and 3x12V). What are the power specifications of the internal SATA power connector?

I'd like to be able to use the SATA power connector to power a 12V 1.5A monitor, and according to the above Wikipedia entry, I'd just have to wire the 12V and ground up to a DC barrel and I'm good to go.
