NUC7i5DNBE CON4003 and CON4004 definitions
What are the function/pin definitions for NUC7i5DNBE CON4003 and CON4004 connectors?
These do not appear in the documentation.

Nuc startup problem
Hi guys.
I hope someone can help me. My nuc 7i5 has worked with no problems so far. But all of a sudden when I try to start it up. The screen looks very weird. It shows the boot screen normally, but when it boots to Windows the screen Is split in half vertically. Bottom half is black and the top half is pixeled in coulour. Can't get further from there. Tried the HDMI cable in my Xbox with no issues.
Windows recently updated. Could it be a graphics driver and how do I fix it.
NUC6CAYH: First screen flickering with HDMI, now USB 3.0 ports do only USB 2.0 speed !
Hi Intel,
this is frustrating. When i bought the little one in April, all was running smooth until i started updating the BIOS and other drivers about 6 weeks ago. With the firmware that was originaly on, Windows 10 Pro was running fine with no issues. About 6 weeks ago, after i got the, then latest updates, i also noticed that screen flickering that seems to appear randomly (connected to my ASUS VN279QLB monitor over HDMI). Then, about 2 weeks ago, i did another update and that appears to have crippled the speed of the USB 3.0 ports. With my USB 3.0 sticks and external HDDs i always got betweens 130-175 MB/sec downloading. Now they all MAX OUT at 38 MB/sec. I unplugged all cables, put them all back in again, reboots, loading defaults in BIOS, Windows 10 Pro and the NUC all have the latest updates. But USB 3.0 speed IS GONE !! Only question i have. Is Intel aware of such USB issue ? Or is my NUC toasted for some reason and i should send it back?
Cheers ... hoping for an helpfull answer
Will June Canyon be shown on CES 2018?
I'm itching for a Gemini Lake NUC, and I was wondering how soon I may get it. Thanks.
NUC5i5RBY wont boot
My 5th Gen NUC is having a weird boot problem. When connected to the AC adapter the green standby light is lit, but when you press the power button the blue light turns on for around 0.5s, the fan spins, and then both the light and the fan go off, but the green light stays on. The same issue happens in all 4 memory module configurations (2, 1 in either slot, 0). The display doesn't work through my mini display adapter during this process either.
Anyone got any ideas?
Can I install win 7 on m.2 drive?

Cheapest NUC with UEFI?
I'm in the market for some tiny UEFI thing just so I can tinker with the ins and outs of OS Development on any given UEFI platform.
Performance doesn't matter, storage, ram, IO don't matter - just something with USB ports I can mess with UEFI on...and ideally hook up to a screen for some text-only stuff. Absolutely nothing fancy.
The NUC seems about right, but I'm so out of touch since they came out..are they all UEFI now? Is there anything I should be aware of? Are any of them "better" in some sense for UEFI than others?
Thank you.
Skull Canyon NUC6i7KYK vs. APC UPS
Hello,
I have not definitively figured out my issue just yet, but at first glance it appears that one of my AC Adapters for one of my NUC6i7KYK NUCs may not be liking the battery output of my APC Back-UPS XS 1500 (Model BX1500G).
I have two identical NUC6i7KYK systems, both on the same model of APC UPS. One is mine, the other is my wife's, in the same room. I also have a third UPS which keeps my NAS and home network alive, in the case of a power outage.
What occurred:
- Yesterday morning at exactly 8:00am, all three UPS units attempted a self-test (I think). I believe it happens every 2 weeks.
- The one holding up the NAS and network does fine.
- The one powering my NUC does fine, and I get the notification that the unit passed the self-test through the APC PowerChute app. I was just doing some light browsing in Chrome at the time.
- My wife's NUC rebooted as if you had yanked the power plug and reinserted it. She was in the middle of playing Warcraft at the time.
I immediately began checking her UPS. Was the battery bad? The UPS unit did not think so. Was there a real power glitch and did I have the plug misinserted in a "Surge Only" socket? Nope - it was properly plugged into a socket for battery backup. When the system came back up, I manually ran the self-test and it passed (but we were not playing Warcraft, or running any heavy loads).
I'm beginning to wonder if the AC Adapter that shipped with these NUCs is sensitive to the "stepped approximated sine wave" output of these UPS units. Is it possible that under light loads that they work OK, but under heavier workloads they fail and reset themselves? Do these AC Adapters have active power factor correction? This is sometimes a problem with the stepped sine wave output of some UPS designs.
I guess for a definitive test, I should run some form of heavy workload and then manually try the UPS self-test procedure again. Warcraft is running full screen and that's not convenient or consistent. Is there some form of Windows-based PC stress test I should try?
Thanks
clicking sound from the nuc7i5bnh
hello, since a few days i hear strange noises coming from the nuc.
i can hear it when it loads things, if it works, when it downloads, especially when webm or gif animations are played.
it is like clicking, electrical, i would say like if a hdd is accessed, but it not even has an hdd.
it has a crucial 1tb 2,5sata ssd.
i have the fan/blower on 30% in idle and can hear this noises (without having my ear on the nuc).
i'm not sure if this was there from the beginning. i think not.
i already updated the bios to the newest version and it didn't fixed it.
i'm not sure if this is normal.
NUC For Multimedia.
Good evening. I would like to open this file which is about NUC.
Thank you very match...
EDIT:
I have removed your word document and pasted the text below.
Doc
Hello from Greece. My name is Nikos. I ask you very much, I would like you to help with a problem that I am facing.
I want a computer on which I will build all the multimedia of my home on it. I'll see Netflix UHD 4K 7.1, movies, youtube, tdal, spotify, and more.
I have a space problem and I would like it to be as small as possible, so I thought of the NUC solution.
The specifications I would like to have are:
- I7, 7h generation processor,
- Graphics card that supports 4K and necessary HDR,
- Memory Ram 8, or 12gb.
- Have two HDMI outputs,
- if it is possible to have audio output, coaxial, or Toshlink (optical fiber).
Please help me by sending me a Link, a NUC that meets the above conditions
There is? or would it be better to build a Tower computer to get the best picture and sound?
Thank you very much!

NUC6CAYH unable to boot, ring led status stuck in fade mode, BIOS defaults does not solve
Hi,
I've been using a linux based tool (GitHub - milesp20/intel_nuc_led: Intel NUC7i[x]BN and NUC6CAY LED Control for Linux ) to change the Ring LED on the NUC6CAYH to different colors and modes.
I may have stumbled upon a situation where the NUC is unable to boot after the ring led has been set to fade instead of being on solid.
To create the problem:
- Set the ring led to "sw controlled" in the Visual Bios
- Boot into linux
- Load the driver and set the ring led to fade slowly in color white
- Reboot the NUC, it is completely stuck, the ring led is fading slowly white but the UEFI does not seem to go past POST or even offer any options to enter the setup menu
To temporary fix the problem, clear CMOS as suggested here: Clearing CMOS on Intel® NUC
- Plug AC power in
- 3 second power button trick to get into "safe mode"
- Enter setup, load defaults (F9) and save
This sets the ring led back to "power status" and makes the NUC bootable again.
Here comes the tricky part:
After booting successfully with the new BIOS settings I rebooted the NUC again and set the ring led back to "SW controlled", thinking it would be back to defaults (off) and boot.
But after saving and rebooting the NUC the ring led is fading slowly white again, I hoped the setting (and possibly bug) would be gone.
Now I am unable to ever set the ring LED back to "SW controlled" since it renders the NUC unbootable.
Could this be a BIOS issue?
I'm running the latest version: "AYAPLCEL.86A.0042.2017.1117.1918"
Sincerely, Koen
NUC7I5BHNX1 and M.2
HI,
I have just bought a nuc7i5bnhx1 and an Intel "512GB SSD Pro 600p Series NVMe M.2.
The problem is that I discover, when I received the products that the only slot M.2 is occupied by the Octane memory.
I would like to know if it's possible, with a converter M.2-Sata , to use the Sata 2.5" connector.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Best Regards

NUC6i3SYH stutters playing 4k video
I have a NUC6i3SYH connected via DisplayPort and a Club3d active DP-HDMI adapter to my Samsung 4k TV. When I try to play 4k60fps video taken from my iPhone 8, the video will often stop and then wait a few seconds before playing again. It looks like the GPU is at 100%. Is this NUC just not powerful enough or is there something I'm doing wrong? I've tried using MPC-HC, VLC, Kodi, Plex, and the built in Windows10 Movie player and the only one that sort of works is MPC-HC. Any help would be appreciated!
Display issues NUC7i5BNH on Panasonic TV (HDMI)
I have a very odd display issue with my NUC.
The display via HDMI works just n the monitors that I've tested, but when I plug it in, the dispaly will not work. By not work, I mean I see the BIOS boot up NUC splash page, but as soon as Windows loads, the screen goes a bit wonky. See the pic for details. Now, the ONLY way to get it to display on the TV, is to uninstall the video driver completely and use the Microsoft Basic Display adapter.
Here is some specific info on my environment:
- TV: Panasonic TC-P46G25 46-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV (via HDMI)
- WIndows 10 Pro, 1709 build
- Using the NUC for a Kodi HTPC
I've tried using the Intel drives from the download center, using the MSFT Intel drives via Windows Update - no difference. Interestly, the display will stop working as soon as the driver is updated. In other words, if I uninstall the display adapter, then reboot - the diplay is fine. But as soon as the driver is updated - the display stops working.
Also tried using different HDMI cables just to see, but no joy. Also checked the driver settings (what output it's using) but can't find anything to help. I don't understand how the basic MSFT driver works but the Intel, manufacturer specific driver does not.
Any help or sugguestions would be great!
Thanks,
Rob
Display Driver 20.19.15.4835 Pushed by Windows Update
Help, please?
Like the title of this question states, my November Windows (7, Pro, 64bit) Update is pushing as "Important"
a DRIVER: "Display Driver 20.19.15.4835 released in October, "published" (Ms never says WHO "published", or how "published" differs from "released")
and I cannot find that driver anywhere at Intel, even when I select "all Downloads" and "Any OS".
So I am not installing it without getting it from Intel.
I selected the Windows Update settings years ago, and maintain them, which are supposed to "Ignore" ALL driver software.
I am running otherwise fully updated Win7Pro64 on a NUC5i7RYH.
Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated, I am completely baffled by this one.

NUC7i7 SSD Clone don't work
I've installed on a NUC7i7 with M.2 SATA3 64Gb ubuntu 16.04, it's work.
I put the M.2 SATA3 in another IDENTICAL NUC7i7 but doesn't boot...
I put the M.2 SATA3 on the previous and boots..
Why?
NUC7i3BNH just shut off ,-will not turn on again
My nuc just lost power while browsing. Now when i connect the power cable i just hear electric "humming" noise from it and it will not power on.
Any advice?

NUC7i5BNH and Panasonic TV problem
Hi everyone,
I just bought the new NUC7i5BNH and I have problems when I connect it to my TV Panasonic TX-P42C3E. I'm connecting it with the HDMI cable.
There is no picture - black screen and no sound.
There are no problems when I connect this NUC to my other two different monitors.
I've updated the latest BIOS and the NUC HDMI firmware.
I also have the older NUC model NUC5i3RYH and it connects to the above mentioned TV without any problems.
Please help.
