Intel AC 7260 not working on D54250WYKH1

I have had the D54200WYKH1 for a month and yesterday tried adding Intel AC 7260.

I have Windows 8.1.

No problems with hardware install.  Downloaded and installed latest Intel Proset drivers for the 7260 (17.1)

Both bluetooth and wifi wouldn't work.

I then updated to latest Bios for D54250WYKH1 (0030) and installed the latest driver package.

Still not working. Uninstalled and reinstalled 7260 drivers.  Didn't work.

Downgraded to 17.0 drivers.  No luck.

I wasted 4 hours last night trying to get this card to work.  I've searched the forums and have seen similar problems but no definitive solutions.  Please help.

Intel NUC D54250WYKH2 boot problem

Hello,

I just purchased the following intel NUC kit and got problem to boot it:

- D54250WYKH2

- DDR3 So Dimm Crucial Ballistix Sport 8Go PC12800 1600Mhz CL9 1.35V | BLS8G3N169ES4CEU

- SAMSUNG SSD Serie 840 EVO - 2.5 pouces - 250 Go - SATA III

Indeed, wherever I plug the memory board I got the same result: when I push the On/Off button of the NUC the LED blinks continuously (0.5s on, 2.5s off, ...), there is no display over the HDMI port and I do not hear any fan activity (I don't know if the fan should turns as soon as I start the NUC).

I also noticed that I got the same result if I do not plug the memory on the NUC.

Could someone help me ? Is there any problem with my NUC or with the memory ?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Notebook Qbex

Boa tarde. Ele aparece no endereço  ACPI\TPSACPI01 e *TPSACPI01 do windows.

D34010WYK Won't Boot

Hi,

I have an Intel NUC D34010WYK that I have just bought and have installed the following two components:

Both appear to be compatible but whenever I switch the NUC on I get the three flashing blue lights and then within a minute it restarts and does the three flashing lights again.

I thought this was a broken NUC so the supplier swapped it out for a new one but am getting exactly the same.

I have tried different memory in the unit because Intel say that the 3 flashing lights is a memory error but I get the same results.

I don't have a mSATA drive installed as planning to run everything from USB.

Am I missing something here?

Thanks.

Pete.

Intel NUC DN2820FYKH SATA Drive not showing in BIOS

Hi guys,

I'm hoping you can help.

On Friday I purchased an Intel NUC DN2820FYKH. Installed the correct RAM and HDD and windows 8.1 through USB. The system installed the OS and booted normally. However, when I shutdown the mini-pc and later turned it back on, it would not recognise the SATA drive.

I assumed something must have gone wrong so after a bit of playing around, I removed it, formatted it in another machine and repeated the process. Eventually I re-installed windows 8. To check, I shut down the computer immediately, and the same problem occurred upon booting.

The initial startup screen (showing F2 for setup) hangs when the drive is plugged in but the bios shows that no internal SATA drive is present, I tried mounting the drive in an external caddy and connecting it by USB and the computer was able to see it again.

On Friday I updated to the latest BIOS (fy0039). I rolled the BIOS back to (fy0015) and tried every update since then without luck.

I don't think its a hardware fault as a format fixed it until I booted into windows the first time. Before I booted into windows I was having a bit of trouble finding the right installer and the drive was showing up fine. It seems that it's only once I've booted into windows that the drive vanishes on shutdown.

I am using a trial copy of 8.1 Enterprise from MS website.

Please note that I have also posted this question on the Eight Forums (Intel NUC DN2820 SATA Drive not showing in BIOS) but thought I would post here too as this is an Intel product.

Does anyone have any ideas?

BIOS 39 Hangs when press ESC in BIOS

I have a DN2820FYKH running version 39 BIOS and if I am in the BIOS screen and go to advanced settings, if I tab across to a drop down menu and then press ESC, the NUC hangs and I cannot do anything other than force a reboot with Ctrl+Alt+Del or turn the power off and back on again. Anyone else seeing this or know if it has been reported yet?

Thanks

Scott

Hi,

my Nuc won't turn on anymore. It worked fine for about 2 months. A few hours ago I turned it off and now it won't turn on again. When I press the power button nothing happens (no blinking of the LED, fans won't turn). When power is connected the standby led lights up.

Any ideas what the problem might be or what I can try to find out.

DN2820FYK - No Video

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing the same kind of problem with my newly bought NUC n2820.

My NUC does not display anything on the two hdmi monitors I have. So it is impossible to boot anything, plus when plugging usb devices they are not powered on.

As for the RAM  I use a 1.35 V module from Corsair : Corsair 4GB (1x4GB) 1333MHz PC-10600 204-Pin DDR3 SODIMM Laptop Memory (CMSO4GX3M1C1333C9) at Amazon.com

I even tested the RAM on memtest86+ with no error.

Any ideas to unblock the NUC, or the device is good for an RMA ?

I already to perform the BIOS recovery update by removing the jumper inside. But the LEDs nevers indicates a flashing.

The usb keys were using MBR or GPT on a fat32 filesystem.

Thank you in advance.

D34010wyk problems with flash video

Many forms video playback (HTML5, WMP, WMC, XBMC, VLC, etc) work fine on my NUC, but embedded flash video does not. Whenever I try to play embedded flash video on my it runs at a pretty chunky framerate (maybe 10fps). This happens regardless of bit rate, and with both windowed and fullscreen flash video.

I updated to the latest drivers from the September driver bundle and updated the bios. I've tried all combinations of browser and flash GPU acceleration on/off and the windows display options (different performance options and aero/classic desktop). I even wiped and reinstalled everything just to make sure.

Anyone know what the problem might be?

eMMC on board DE3815TYBE, life expectation.

Hi:

Regarding life-span of eMMC on board the DE3815TYBE, I have some questions:

* What is the estimated write cycles for it?.

* Does it features "wear leveling"?

* Does it support "trim". The feature that lets a Linux OS to tell the  SS drive that some blocks are unused and thus can be used for wear leveling?

Thanks in advanced, and best regards.

D54250WYK USB3 problem

$

Hi,

I have problems with the USB3.0 controller on the D54250WYK NUC board.

It seems that the Linux xhci_hcd driver is not fully compatible with the Intel USB3 controller which results in popping audio when using an external audio device with USB2 Async mode. (Ex.: Audiolab M-DAC)

I know that this problem is basically a bug in the Linux kernel (xhci driver), but it seems that the Intel USB controller has some weird behavior as well:

- The internal USB pins on the D54250WYK are USB2.0 ports, but they are also controlled by the XHCI (USB3) contoller which means that the OS is using the buggy xhci_hcd driver for these USB2 ports, instead of the ehci_hcd driver.

My question is: Would it be possible to include the option of disabling the USB3.0 (XHCI mode) Support in the UEFI BIOS for this board?

It's actually mentioned in the BIOS setting gloassary document: http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/biosglossary_nuc_v03.pdf, so I guess this functionality is already implemented, and it's just disabled for this board.

There are other people with this requirement as well: switch usb ports from xhci to ehci?

Failure to update BIOS D53427HYE

$

Hello all,

I am having intermittent failure  of Intel NUCs DC53427HYE during BIOS update using the F7 key when booting and a USB drive containing the BIOS update.  The BIOS update filename is RK0034.BIO

I am cloning a Master Intel NUC to an external SSD, then installing the cloned SSD in a new NUC. We found it necessary to update BIOS to the same as the Master NUC before it will boot. Usually this works ( I have done it on ten NUCs but I also had this same issue once before). The computer goes into an endless loop upon startup, but first it says:

>Flashing image for Main BIOS firmware

>Flashing image for Graphic Firmware

>

>Flash update has completed successfully

>

>Recovery complete.

>Changes to BIOS require a full system reset.

>Power off the system and unplug the AC power cord.

>Restore the BIOS COnfiguration Jumper.

>Then restore AC power and power on the system.

I had not touched the jumper. Upon next restart, the computer displays the Intel startup screen, then a black screen, then loops back to the Intel screen endlessly. The Function keys, like F10 don’t work.

I have tried moving the jumper to recovery mode, tried removing the jumper and memory, unplugging for one hour, nothing is working.

The other time I had this issue-I returned the computer to the vendor. Now it has happened again and I am wondering if it is recoverable.

Any help appreciated.

Intel NUC DE3815TYKE Atom Watchdog

$

I have purchased one of these Atom NUC's with the intention of getting it to manage some remote systems and I would like to know more about the watchdog facility. Is there any docs on this? Specifically its use from linux.

I cant find anywhere in the BIOS to enable the Watchdog. Is there a specific distro that has support or will it work with a standard debian install?

I would like the system to restart in the event of a system crash which is what I believe the watchdog facility is for.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

BSOD during installation of windows 7 and 8 on NUC DN2820FYKH

Hello yall;

This box was working just fine with windows 8.1 until it started crashing all the times during bootup or after 10 minutes of use with completely different BSOD (from ntfs.sys to kernel to HDMI....) I reformated the box, started installing again windows 8 on 2 different hard-drives, sometimes the computer will freeze during the installation, or i get BSOD.

Then I decided to test with windows 7 and i cannot install it, i have BSOD during the install as well. After more than 40 installs I decided to post this thread here to find out what else could be done before RMA the NUC. The DVDs were installed on other systems that same week and i even burnt more DVDs to disregard the DVD issue.

I also tested the NUC to another location to disregard any environmental issue and plugged it straight to the wall outlet.

BIOS is updated to the latest version

Changed hard-drives, same issue.

Will test the memory tonight.

The dump files do not suggest anything particular, asking either to check for hardware changes or check for drivers and all the threads on Microsoft forums did not take care of the issue. I am leaning towards a hardware issue that time rather than software since the NUC crashes without installed drives and even crashes in safe mode but if someone has another idea please let me know.

I have 4 NUCs but Im on vacation in another country so i am limited with hardware. The only thing that changed is the voltage, Im in 220 volts here and I am using the plug supplied in the box by Intel.

The latest BSOD i had was win32k.sys and that happened just after the installation of windows 8 when I rebooted the NUC. Again there is no drive add to this box since it is crashing after the installation.

Please find attached the latest dump of the crash.

Thank you.

Hi,

I'm conciderring using Intel NUC's, instead of some standard desktop pc's in my company.  Altough i had 2 questions :

The NUC (D54250WYKH) has 2 video outputs (one mini HDMI and one mini Displayport).  Can they be used toghether ?  With other words, can i simmultaniuos connect 2 monitors, so my windows deskop is expanded over the 2 screens ?

Is there a limitations on the size OR boot possibilities of the mSATA connector in the device ?  With other words, can i put a 500Gb mSATA disk and use it as my primary Windows 8 boot device ?

Intel NUC DE3815TYK - Serial Ports (legacy)

$

Hi,

I'm having some trouble setting up the Intel NUC DE3815TYK with an EPOS receipt printer under Linux.

The first 40 - 60 characters get through to the printer, but the rest of the data is lost.  The printer / software has been proven to work fine on a more conventional desktop motherboard so i believe the issue to be in the setup / configuration of the serial port or underlying UART.  I'm guessing its a buffer issue, but I'm having difficulty diagnosing the problem without some further information.

In order that i might be able to further investigate a solution, could I get some details about the legacy serial hardware employed on the DE3815TYK:

  • What type of UART is it? i.e. 8250, 16550A etc..
  • What is the base address for the 2 serial ports?
  • What IRQ's are assigned to the 2 serial ports?
  • Are there any known issues with native Linux kernel drivers?

My Environment is:

  • Linux Lite 2.0, NUC Edition
  • Kernel version - 3.13.0-34-generic

The Linux Lite distribution is installed on the internal 4GB eMMC, with the stock vanilla kernel.  I haven't as yet looked into rolling a new

Thanks in advance.

The graphics card is an Intel HD Graphics 4000 but I can't find the highest supported video resolution.

Can you help me?

Windows 7 stop error after sleep mode for DN2820

My Intel NUC DN2820 sporadically exhibits Windows 7 stop errors (blue screens) shortly (about a minute) after resume from sleep mode.

I have already performed memtest86+ for eight cycles without any issues.

No issues (stop errors), when sleep mode is disabled.

Has anyone experienced similar issues? What could be the root cause?

Intel NUC DN2820FYKH .webm video problem

Hi

We are using intel NUCs for our digital signage services. We are using Risevision digital signage software. When we use .mp4 video files the video is choppy, i think because of the hardware limitations. Not very choppy but still choppy enough. So we tried using .webm videos. Videos are working flawlessly, no lag or framerate drop, nothing. However, after 15 minutes or so playing the digital sigange presentation, instead of playing videos we get a white screen. When we restart the signage player its again ok for 15 minutes then same thing happens.

Reason why i am writing here for help and not on the support of digital signage software is that we tested the same presentation on 4 different computers and Intel NUC. We tested the presentation continuosly for 2 days straight and only NUC is having this problem. Other 4 computers are running the presentation just fine for 2 days with no white screen. Tee software uses Chrome for playing presentations. So i am suspecting it has something to do with graphics in Intel NUC, because other 4 computers doesnt have the same graphic chip as Intel NUC. One of the computers is Aopen which is also intel based and its from 2009 running windows 8.1 as well and working just fine, while intel NUC which is bought 5 days ago is having this problem.

One thing to mention is when we use different type of video file like .mp4 it is choppy but we dont get the white screen, only with .webm videos.

Problem occured on stock graphic drivers which came with NUC, and i have also installed latest graphic drivers, but problem persists. I have also updated the bios

Here is the preview of the presentation, it will open in any browser, just let it play in it and you will see a problem if you have intel NUC

Viewer

The presentation is in 1080x1920 resolution, vertical

Any help or advice on this matter will mean a lot

Thanks in advance.
